What is the connection?
So far we have looked at some interesting ideas about us, our relationship to the Divine Source, and some of what we are capable of. Yet, for the most part there seems to be little connection between these things and the concept of Oneness. The connection is that understanding ourselves and our place in the Cosmos ultimately unifies us all as a peaceful species.
Let's break it down a little.
- We are Spiritual Beings -- sparks of GOD.
- We are all Unified by the same Field of Energy.
- Everything we do affects the Cosmic Body, which affects us.
This is an important point behind Oneness, because it dispels the myths that many have believed for generations. Our truest nature exists beyond the physical body, and thus is subject to none of the laws of physics. The Spirit is part of the Creator; an extension of GOD. That truest part of us is immortal, peaceful, abundant, fearless, and limitless.
Deepak Chopra asks us to observe the observer, in an attempt to connect to that highest part of us. Listen to a beautiful piece of music, and then pay attention to whom is doing the listening. Or gaze into a mirror and feel happy about what your eyes are seeing, then observe whom is doing the actual looking. Can you feel something wonderful? Can you witness the part of you that is "in the driver's seat" of the body?
So what does it mean to be a Spiritual Being? Well, it means that the personality and form we express each day is only a role. Imagine the Soul is the actor, and the identity, (J. Doe,) is a character. This means the actor is the real us, and we are likely to play many different roles. (This concept is understood as "reincarnation".)
Now imagine what this means about the play itself. There are set rules within the script of existence that allows the story to make sense. For example, our character in the story must breathe air to survive. Our role allows us to travel only across the ground, unless aided by a vehicle such as a plane. The Soul/actor is free from the rules of the script. (We will likely explore this in depth later on.)
We are all connected through GOD via the Spirit. In this way we are One.
We are all Unified by the same Field of Energy.
We have learned that everything is comprised of five types of energy, and that we are all a part of this field of energy. More than being submerged in this energy field, our mind and body are made of the energy field. Everything of the physical plane is made of this field, therefore we are all "cut from the same cloth".
This is important, because it demonstrates that we only believe we are separate from all that is around us because our senses are limited. If our eyes could see the Universe at an atomic level, we would see concentrations of particles, but never solid objects. Everything exists in an environment without borders. Just as we draw imaginary lines separating regions on a map, the eyes perceive outlines dividing us from our surroundings. The division is illusion.
In this way, we are all One.
Everything we do affects the Cosmic Body, which affects us.
We have seen that the nature of the Universe connects all things in cycles. Everything on Earth is affected by the time of day, the tides, and the seasons. The ancient Maya observed connections between humankind, the planet, and astrological cycles. (These cycles of nature can span centuries!)
Furthermore, anything we do or experience radiates out and affects the world around us. For example, pet guardians directly affect the mood of their pets. A happy human makes for a happy pet. The same holds true for our plants; if we direct loving feelings to plants they grow healthier and stronger.
Now imagine the domino effect of this. If we smile to a stranger, it improves their mood, and they treat the restaurant server better, which in turn is cheerier to coworkers, which take their upbeat mood home to their families.
All our actions ultimately affect the world, which in turn affects us in return.
In this way, we are all One.

The Quick Recap:
Know and realize that we are all literally One with the Universe.
Express this knowledge by literally doing to others what you would expect from them in a perfect world.
Expect nothing in return, because it's all about giving. In giving, the Universe shall ultimately give back to us.
